Certainty is an illusion. Peace of mind afforded by routine, security and the likes often evolves into undesirable states. The humdrum is boring, is the door lock safe enough?, Is the job secure? What if? What if?… Yet, at the same time, predictability has an attraction that frequently creates fear of change.
The paradox arises by wanting more from life yet not making a changes to get there.
Leap, and the net will appear.
Change is a prerequisite for getting different results. Not changing leaves the daily focus on whatever is current, and presumably non ideal. After a change, a myriad of new and unpredicted inputs flood the senses; new people, new places, new information and new challenges.
Humans are pre-programmed to improve their world and the new challenges will push the old frustrations out of mind. The rich detail of the new situation creates opportunities and goals.
Time is limited for everyone so make some changes before it’s too late. Not all changes will work. The best part of some will be the cautionary tales to tell your grandchildren. But you’ll be wiser with more depth of character and some of your changes will succeed beyond what you thought possible.
You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something–your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.
